GOLDEN TARA

Ang Ginintûang Tára ng Agúsan ay isang gintong estatwang may taas na pitóng pulgada. Ito ay imahen ng diyosang si Tara sa paniniwalang Budismo.
Ang gintong imahen ay natagpuan noong 1917 sa baybayin ng Ilog Wawa malapit sa Esperanza, Agusan del Sur sa Mindanao. Ayon kay Henry Otley Beyer, isa sa mga nangungunang antropologo sa Filipinas, ang estatwa ay mula pa sa panahong 900–950. Sa pananaliksik, ebidensiya ang imahen ng posibilidad na naging impluwensiya ang Hindu-Buddhistang paniniwala sa mga tao sa Mindanao. Sa panahong ito ng ikapito hanggang ikalabintatlong siglo, may dibersidad ng relihiyon at paniniwala sa Filipinas.
Dahil representasyon si Tara ng kalayaan at tagumpay ng kababaihan, sinasabi na ang pagkakaroon ng kaniyang imahen sa Mindanao ay pagpapakita ng pagpapahalaga ng bansa sa kababaihan. Maaari ring nangangahulugang ito na matriyarkal ang lipunan ng Filipinas bago dumating ang mga Español. Sa Buddhismong Tibetan, kilala din si Tara bilang Jetsun Dolma. Sa Buddhismong Mahayana, isa siyáng babaeng Bodhisattva na nangangahulugang may napakataas siyáng kaalaman at pagkaunawa. Sa Buddhismong Vajrayana naman, may anyo siyáng babaeng Buddha.

Museum


Ang museum ay na ipatayo matapos ma diskubre ang archaeological materials by the City Engineering Office in 1974. Sa kanilang ginawang paghuhukay sa paligid ng National Museum nag bunga ito dahil may mas marami pa silang na hukay na mga archeological artifacts, the most significant of which were prehistoric Butuan boats (balangay) that date from 4th to 13th centuries A.D., just five kilometers from the city proper.

Bood Promontory Eco Park

The ecopark is situated at a bend in the Masao River or El Rio de Butuan. A huge cross will welcome you in Blood Promontory Ecopark. The cross replace the original one that was used during the first Christian mass in the country that took place on March 31, 1521. Though according to Antonio Pigafetta, Magellan's chronicler, the first mass took place in Limasawa or Mazaua, an island in Southern Leyte, and due to that it was declared in 1960 that Limasawa was the site of first mass in the Philippines.

A statue with Ferdinand Magellan, Kalambu, King of Butuan, and Siaui, King of Mazaua commemorating the mass can also be found on the ecopark. Tables and shed pavilion are available in the area for those who love to have picnic and be one with the nature since the area is full of trees.

Guingona park

Guingona park is located at what used to be the public square or plaza of Butuan for many years. It is home to a large acacia tree that is more than a century old. On its ground is the Shrine of the Philippine Flag in Mindanao to commemorate the first fiormal raising of the Philippine Flag in Mindanao on January 17, 1899. THe Giant Flag stays hoisted there night and day. The Rizal monument was done by the famous FIlipino sculpture, Garcia Velarde, in 1935, and this qualifies to be an important Cultural Propert under the Cultural Heritage Act of 2009.
